Primer - April 8 and 9, 2021 - presented by Wisconsin Union Theater!

While we are all continuing to enjoy entertainment from our homes, Primer is being presented virtually again, this time by Wisconsin Union Theater in association with UW Madison! We are very excited to be partnering with WUT, and continuing to develop and grow this dynamic conversation piece.

Taking inspiration from one of David & Marcella's initial starting points for Distances, Primer will examine, elaborate, and respond to a Charlie Rose interview with Octavia Butler where race, privilege, and science fiction become lenses into the larger (fraught) cultural conversation and painful histories that play out in a largely white supremacist world. The challenges in trying to connect while socially distant are profound, ridiculous, and inspiring.
