ABG announces 3-year Research Residency

If you haven’t been able to catch our most recent work, Primer for an Impossible Conversation, you’re in luck!

Primer will be performed again this coming Friday, November 5th at 7:30pm EDT, presented by Carolina Performing Arts. Get tickets here: https://www.unc.edu/event/primer-for-an-impossible-conversation-co-created-by-david-neumann-marcella-murray-and-tei-blow-for-advanced-beginner-group/

This streaming performance of Primer begins David Neumann, Marcella Murray, and Tei Blow’s 3-year research residency as part of the Southern Futures at Carolina Performing Arts program at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

During this residency ABG will, among other activities, create a new work commissioned by Carolina Performing Arts, the third piece in the series begun by Distances Smaller Than This Are Not Confirmed (2020 Obie Award), and continued with Primer for an Impossible Conversation. This new work will premiere in CPA’s 2023-2024 season. We're very excited to begin the residency and work with some amazing new artists and collaborators.

Friday’s performance of Primer will include a talkback, and continuation of the conversation, with Jacqueline Lawton, a playwright, dramaturg, producer, advocate for access, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the American Theatre, and co-director of the Southern Futures at UNC, Chapel Hill.

Click here to register by November 5th! (Tickets available starting at $0. Registration required.)

We hope you’ll be able to join us!
