Primer for an Impossible Conversation - coming in 2021!

David Neumann & Marcella Murray, in collaboration with Tei Blow, are making a new theater piece!

"Primer for an Impossible Conversation" is made to be performed online, and continues the conversation begun in their Obie-Award winning "Distances Smaller Than Than This Are Not Confirmed".

Taking inspiration from one of David & Marcella's initial starting points for "Distances," "Primer…" will examine, elaborate, and respond to a Charlie Rose interview with Octavia Butler where race, privilege, and science fiction become lenses into the larger (fraught) cultural conversation and painful histories that play out in a largely white supremacist world. The challenges in trying to connect while socially distant are profound, ridiculous, and inspiring.
