Obie Award for Distances Smaller

We hope everyone’s okay. There is so much we can’t control right now, and so many of us who are hurting, but we want to share a small bit of good news: On July 14, 2020, David Neumann and Marcella Murray were honored at the Obie Awards with a Special Citation for Creation and Performance for Distances Smaller Than This Are Not Confirmed.

While we celebrate this recognition and share it with the many, many dedicated individuals who helped bring this work to life, the moment is bittersweet. We cannot help but reflect on the environment in which this work is receiving this award. Like so many others, we are unsure of the future of theater, and unsure, even, of the future of the country. But, we believe this can also be a moment of recommitment to what we value, to what we want to preserve, and to what we must fight for.
